Mannheim Central Fire Station
Mannheim, Germany

In Mannheim HOCHTIEF is building the new central fire station. The building complex not only houses the professional fire brigade and two departments of the voluntary fire brigade, the administration of the fire brigade, the departments of fire and risk prevention, the management offices for extraordinary damage events and the City of Mannheim’s control center for hazard prevention. The U-shaped building was thereby developed around a central courtyard.
Apart from assuming the role of operational fire and disaster prevention the new central fire station also takes on the function of a management center and headquarters for the City of Mannheim’s entire non-police hazard prevention.
