Bremerhaven port tunnel

The port tunnel being newly built on Cherbourger Strasse in Bremerhaven is one of the most important infrastructure projects for the city on the mouth of the Weser. Designed as a highway feeder road, the tunnel will run from the Überseehafen and the industrial estates close to the harbor, to the A27 federal highway. The two-lane tunnel, which is around two kilometers in length, runs through a residential area and passes over a drinking water reservoir.

HOCHTIEF, as the commercial lead in a joint venture, is building the Bremerhaven port tunnel using a cut-and-cover method.
